About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Strategist to lead one of Winback’s lifecycle pods, owning strategy, communication, and performance across a portfolio of fast-growing consumer brands.

You’ll be at the forefront of retention marketing, running your own team and driving lifecycle performance across email, SMS, and push. This means leading relationships with some of the most innovative brands in ecommerce and consumer apps—translating data, behavior, and brand into systems that drive real, measurable growth.

You’ll manage a high-performing cross-functional team and take full ownership for how your accounts perform. From planning and prioritizing sprints to leading client calls and diagnosing performance shifts, you’ll be the operator ensuring that every part of your pod delivers at the highest level.

What you'll do:

Client Strategy & Leadership
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for client accounts, managing all communication, feedback, and performance alignment.

  • Build cross-channel lifecycle strategies that drive LTV, retention, and payback velocity.

  • Lead client calls and performance reviews, presenting insights, tests, and next steps with confidence and clarity.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve automation, segmentation, and messaging performance.

  • Own the client relationship end-to-end—ensuring Winback’s standard of quality, responsiveness, and measurable results.

Pod Management & Execution Oversight
  • Build and nurture a team of top performers who take real pride in their work and care deeply about outcomes.

  • Act as a player–coach—leading strategy, supporting execution, and stepping in when a teammate or client truly needs you.

  • Create an environment where high standards and personal growth go hand in hand, fostering accountability, curiosity, and craftsmanship.

  • Drive creative and strategic thinking within the pod, challenging assumptions and pushing for ideas that deliver meaningful results.

  • Balance autonomy and structure—giving your team room to excel while ensuring priorities, deadlines, and quality standards are consistently met.

  • Recognize and develop your team’s strengths, ensuring every member feels supported, trusted, and invested in the work they’re building together

Performance Analysis & Optimization
  • Monitor performance weekly and translate data into actionable recommendations for your pod and your clients.

  • Take final ownership in the accuracy and depth of your team’s reporting.

  • Identify early signals of deliverability, performance, or data issues—and lead the team in flagging and resolving them.

  • Continuously test and refine lifecycle programs to increase incremental lift and long-term customer value.

Systems Thinking & Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute to internal playbooks, templates, and QA systems that elevate consistency across all Winback pods.

  • Identify recurring patterns or inefficiencies and propose improvements to internal processes.

  • Collaborate with leadership to refine frameworks for measurement, testing, and client success.

  • Act as a cultural and operational leader within the company—raising the bar for quality, clarity, and ownership

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of experience in lifecycle or growth marketing, managing performance-driven client relationships.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and oversee multiple accounts with precision and clarity.

  • Deep understanding of email and SMS strategy, automation, and experimentation (Klaviyo expertise required; Braze or Iterable a plus).

  • Fluent English speaker and writer—capable of leading high-stakes client conversations, writing clear documentation, and representing Winback’s expertise with polish and authority.

  • Analytical and data-driven operator who connects insights to business impact.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented—able to balance strategic vision with flawless execution.

Experience with tools like Triple Whale, Tydo, Blotout, Black Crow, and Retention.com is a plus.
